I am an ER RN and we give it alot for panic attacks. It seems to work well. I have personally never taken it though.

Vistaril really works best as an antiemetic or anti nausea drug.It is an old drug and really shouldn’t be used for anxiety.It also can make you feel really sluggish the day after you take it.Xanax works better for acute anxiety.Anxiety is an underlying symptom of depression and anti depressants work really well for this.I don’t recommend taking Xanax very long and regularly because it is addictive and depressing.Ask you doc for a re evaluation.Go to http://www.depressionhurts.com

I have taken vistaril but not specifically for panic attacks,It does calm you down tho so I see no reason it wouldn’t work. If that’s what your doctor wants you to try go for it.If you are buying it elsewhere-dont-go see a doctor.Panic attacks are nothing to mess around with.
